He couldn't name any epitaph bands after saying he grew up listening to a lot of epitaph bands. Was awkward man.

I'm loving the Coldplay influence on this album

"What are people reacting to in the interview? Seemed pretty normal to me."

The interview was awkward for me because the interviewer clearly seemed to be asking questions that Dustin wasn't expecting or didn't know how to answer. I don't give a shit about the fraud and not knowing any Epitaph bands thing

This was definitely the first Thrice album I was disappointed in. Still good, just no hitting the same highs.

Having listened to this four times now, it’s definitely solid as hell. It is lower tier Thrice, but lower tier Thrice is still great. I’m settling at a 3.5 for now but could see it growing to a 4, but that would be the max.

Favorite songs are Hurricane and Salt and Shadow but, truthfully, I like every single track on this. Problem is I just don’t LOVE that many aside from Hurricane and S & S.

Only Palms to go. My Thrice binge is coming to an end. Very sad. But they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. Next is Brand New, then Isis.

And I honestly don’t get all the love for The Long Defeat. I mean, it’s good. But I see nothing special about it personally.

And not a big fan of all the political leanings tbh. I prefer more personal content/lyrics.

ohmygosh, Long Defeat is so great. It and Hurricane are my two favorites here.

I am not super fond of Black Honey, and I don't like Stay With Me.

Long Defeat is a great live song because they extend the outro so everyone can sing along and I love that. It's also one of the better songs on an album that is half mediocre.

I like personal lyrics but political leanings do have their place. @Lark

I honestly like every single song on the album...to varying degrees. Least fav is Wake Up. Having a hard time really getting int Whistleblower.

I like Stay With Me and Black Honey but can see why someone wouldn’t. And I do like The Long Defeat but just can’t auite get into it enough to love it. Maybe it’ll grow on me more though.

Yeah I agree Agent, but it’s a bit too much on this. Feels like every single song is political.

But that’s ok. I form my own personal connection/interpretation for songs anyway.

Wow, I wouldn’t say it’s half mediocre. It’s very good imo. You were probably just let down since you were so hyped about them coming back from hiatus.

The lyrics on this and Palms for sure took a nosedive from all of their other records and the "political/all inclusive" shit really doesn't suit Dustin's style

I didn't really notice a ton of it. Maybe it's because it isn't preachy as fuck.

I could do without ever hearing five or six (if you include Seneca) of these tracks ever again, which makes this half mediocre for me.

"You were probably just let down since you were so hyped about them coming back from hiatus."

I actually wasn't very excited about them coming back from hiatus lol. This album is exactly what I expected it to be and I was okay with that, but after two years, I find myself liking it less and less as time goes on.

Yeah the political stuff doesn’t fit for me either.
