Fuck it, finally decided to 5 this. I can't really think of anything that was preventing me from 5'ing it anyway, with the exception of me slightly preferring Images and Words... in any case, both are straight-up 5s imo

Great work on the video Brendan. I loved it.
This is a monster of an album. I always loved it. It was love at the first sight. It's one of the main reasons why I like prog metal. Actually, Dream Theater was my baptism in this style with "Images And Words". I particularly appreciate your mention about the work of Moore on the album. I think it was the quiet force behind it. He was abble to balance the technicality, the emotion and the atmosphere on the all album. And particularly the last track is absolutely amazing. Somehow it's his final testament in the band. I'm a huge fan of his keyboard style. I particularly love his work on "A Pleasant Shade Of Gray" of Fates Warning, turning it, probably, in my favourite album of them.
As a conclusion, I don't know if I prefer "Images And Words" or "Awake". Both are two amazing contributions of him to the band.
Thanks for share this video with us, buddy.

Thanks guys! I'm a bit surprised at how much the video has blown up... 1k views in only a day, 25+ new subs, and no signs of slowing down. Hopefully I can continue this momentum for my next vid

Really great video Brendan! Thx for the immense effort you put into this and your channel. Thereโs a lot to delve into.
Awake will always be my most beloved DT record, even though Images is a damn close call. They really had something special going back then.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! At this point, I'm just trying to get more consistent with my channel... my current goal is to upload a video essay/review every two weeks, and I think that's manageable with enough persistence and drive. Fwiw, this was the easiest video for me to edit, despite also being my longest; so I can tell that I'm getting accustomed to the process
On another note, I'm now at 665 subs... the neighbor of the beast ๐๐๐

You can count on me too. It's an amazing last testimony of Moore in the band.

Need to listen to this more, but it's enjoyable.
Funny how these guys and 'Peth led prog-metal up to the early 2000s.
Didn't mention Symphony X, but they were perhaps the #2 US prog-metal band of the time.
Ryche's leadership was up to 1994, so mostly in the 80s, much as I've a soft spot for most of the later stuff.
