Just tell her you're stepping out for Milk.

Congrats and good luck by the way; mines almost 10. The first few years are the most interesting.

storytime. So there's this old Mormon temple in town that was apparently like given over to the town bc of its historical significance or w/e, and a local printing company booked a show there for this post-rock band from a town half an hour away (they gave us nifty band prints cus ++advertising heyoo). So like fifty friends of the bandmembers show up at this church and there must've been like five women who brought their toddlers/babies to the show. One woman was cradling a baby wearing noise-canceling headphones and the rest of the kids sort of just rolled around for an hour--thick booming reverb from the guitars pounding your eardrums the entire time.

So basically, take your spawn to the show. I'm sure such things have happened before.
