Tbf Across the Sea is cringey as fuck but it's still a damn good song. All the other songs on Pinkerton I can relate to somewhat I suppose.

Let me put it this way: Rivers on Pinkerton is in love with the concept of being in a relationship but could give less than a shit about any of girls he has a "crush" on

@clay: look up the lyrics to Birthday Boy from their debut and then eat your words

i thought the draw to pinkerton was how many layers there was to the 'pathetic sex junkie looking for more without actually wanting more' image rivers portrays on the record.

There are layers to it, it's more than just "rivers is sad because he shags loads of women and is emotionally dead"

I wouldn't really say there are layers on Pinkerton

He's rather transparent honestly

Pinkerton is genius though.

Yes, a lot of the lyrics can be considered embarrassing, but it's that and the delivery of them that makes the album for me.

That Rivers really did put 100% honesty and was fully himself going into Pinkerton, that he let his emotions just pour out of himself like that. We've all been there, putting ourselves too out there. and it's that fact that makes Pinkerton such a great and honestly relateable to many album

honestly the only lines on the whole album that really rub me the wrong way are "if I'm a dog then you're a bitch" and maybe "I smell you on my hand for days" because it just makes me think of Steel Panther

I appreciate the honesty and all that I just hate Pinkerton because, musically, it just sucks
