Although if the lyrics were just like A LITTLE passable my rating would be higher. Usually I wouldn't care too much, but this shit is fucking embarrassing to scream live at concerts.

some of it is yeah haha. But I LOVE "rapping?" along to that verse in The Shape. Too bad nobody cares about that song. But yeah this is Corey at his absolute best

it's weird, but it grew on me over the years. I've kinda liked when they throw a major-key chorus in the middle of a bleak song. That's gotta be hard to pull off, but they did it a couple times on S/T as well

I can't shake off the thought that they were definitely listening to a lot of underground extreme metal when making the first two records. Those "diseased" sounding background screams for instance are an element that's already noticeable in the sound of Acid Bath as well as Ripping Corpse...Those soundscape-like high pitched melodies were also done by Godflesh in Streetcleaner...There's some Deicide-style riffing on here as well at times...

guitar tone on this is just so crushing. still wish they worked with ross again. he was able to capture the intensity of these guys that nobody else has been able to imo.

they said the new album will be as heavy as this one. I highly doubt it, but it could be enjoyable considering they've always crafted solid albums, with the exception of AHIG which is 50% cool 50% filler

Yeah they're definitely lying - there is no way it's going to be as heavy at this point in their career

"all great art is made from suffering". that's 100% true, just look at this band, once they quit being alcoholics they released their worst album lol, while when they were under drugs, alcool, suffering from mental illnesses and being sexually promiscuous, they composed this
