Bergtatt?
maybe you should start with some atmospheric black metal to ease you into the genre. Wolves in the Throne Room seem to do the trick for most people...I'd go with Two Hunters, accessible and awesome

There's an album called Opus De Tyranis by a band called Death Tyrant that kind of reminds me of where these guys could have ended up if their vocalist hadn't turned out to be a total idiot.

i wouldn't even call him nuts he just really passionately followed his beliefs and felt he had achieved all that he could in his current life. he wasn't depressed or anything

Isn't that the first track on their new album called Opus De Tyranis? Yeah, I copied the wrong part from my iTunes.

He committed suicide. How was that part of what he believed in. Kind of hard to convince people of the cosmic antichrist when you're feeding worms.

"And for Nödtveidt the most important essence of leaving this life was to have achieved enough to move on. "The Satanist decides over his own life and death and prefers to go with a smile on his lips when he has reached his peak in life, when he has accomplished everything," he once said. "The Satanist dies strong, not by age, disease or depression, and he chooses death before dishonor! Death is the orgasm of life!""
