I hate especially when people call them "emo" vocals. Idk, they just don't bother me all that much. I prefer this guy's voice to Shadows Fall actually.

I'd rather have the vocals in this than the ones from Shadow's Fall any day. Evergreen Terrace is better in that area, though.

When people do this it makes me want to kill a puppy.

well, he hits the correct notes, so we can't call them emo haha. I never had an issue with them in the past, but they just seem out of place on this album. I like Brian Fair's voice because it reminds me of 80s-era James Hetfield. Which I think would sound perfect on this album.

Brian Fair is a horrible clean vocalist.

Yeah, I don't really like Brian Fair (or Hetfield for that matter) as vocalists. Lambesis is truly a beast on this album though.

Brian kills Lambesis though. Overcast anyone?

I only have The Art of Balance, I wouldn't call Fair's performance on that stunning.

Overcast was Brian's band before Shadows Fall, also featuring two future members of Killswitch Engage. They re-recorded and released their original album a year or two ago, I believe it was called Reborn to Kill Again. Pretty good shit, sounds like a more hardcore version of older, Of One Blood-era Shadows Fall.

Brian's voice has grown off me during the years. Although right now i'm in the mood to listen to The War Within

Band's best song is the old version of Deadworld. I only listen to their old material.
