I think it's great, the video is lame but the song is great.

i'm on the fence, i can live without the black metal influence but the thick rhythm guitar being missing is a bit more of a major thing, the song just sounds lifeless to me

i like some parts of it but hmm

Thought I'd jam after hearing and loving the two new singles. I've never really heard anything like this. How does their other work compare?

I'm actually in the same boat as you haha. Heard the new new songs and now I'm here. I've only heard this and the debut and the debut is stunning as well.

Awesome, will check all of his stuff. The new album is shaping up to be amazing based on those two singles.

I love the contrast between the harsh vocals and heavy wall of sound guitars and the ethereal, dream poppy sections. This is really really good.

I agree! and Alcest makes me oddly nostalgic. It's as if I've been listening to this my entire life. Which makes perfect sense considering the concept of Alcest.

For sure man. Question though, what is the concept of Alcest?

Just finishing the closer now, I feel like I am in a dream. Beautiful.

"For sure man. Question though, what is the concept of Alcest?"

"As a child, Neige had experiences of being in contact with a "far off country", which he generically refers to as "Fairy Land". Alcest serves as the musical adaptation of the memories from this "otherworld". Neige intends for Alcest to be a journey for the listener to this world through his memories. This change in concept was first introduced on Le Secret. Souvenirs d'un autre monde will serve as a literal summation of the concept behind the band."

Wow that is awesome, that vibe totally comes out in the music. Its simultaneously dreamy, nostalgic and even uplifting at times.

Listening to Opale now, the shoegazey bridge makes me feel like I am floating through space in a wave of euphoria.

Écailles de Lune (the 2-part song) is probably my favorite song ever.
