"I despise Finally Free, it's my most hated DT track (mainly because on what album it's on and it's after one of my top 5 DT songs)"
terrible comment, finally free is epic as hell and easily a better song than spirit carries on (even tho i love that one too). but at least we both think space-dye vest is top 5

Surely you actually wanted to know what happened to The Miracle and The Sleeper? It's suggested throughout the entire album, without any actual description. I quite like how it starts with a flashback of the aftermath and then switches to the point of Victoria where she's very optimistic about her situation, which slowly turns grim and into her struggle. Also, "this feeling inside me" gets me every fucking time. It's so emotional and as if Nicholas has truly found himself in a different way to Spirit Carries on. The last 5 minutes does have its purpose in the end. Apparently, the Hypnotherapist is the reincarnation of Edward, and is therefore his destiny to kill the reincarnation of Victoria, which is Nicholas. Hence, "open your eyes, Nicholas"

@Choccy: To respond that question, I don't mind either way as long as I enjoyed the excution of it and I hated it on this. I wish it was done in such a different manner due to the reasons what I stated above (especally on the sounds at the end, just having a car and screams to me is just a cop out compared to what could have been done. I'd much perfer it to be ambience and acting for the rest of the song, showing the concluding act in detail and be more dramatic). I know it serves as the final concluding part of the story but I don't care if I hate the excution.

That's just kinda hard to believe because it's such a perfect song. I mean, the organ bit sounds so demonic, LaBrie's vocals exemplify the characters perfectly, the solo is emotional and heavenly... But fair enough.
Opinions....

@Choccy: Sorry, hopefully sometime in the future you'll get to hate something I love. Thanks for not throwing a tandrum anyway :D

Nah, I understand. I've never met anyone with such a view for the song, so it's odd to hear your opinion be polar opposite to mine and well... most DT fans maybe?

I'll happily except I'm in the minority, note I don't think it's their worst song (it definately isn't) but it's my most hated mainly because of the pressure that's placed on the track (being the final big pay off from an monster of an ride) and the quality drop between that and Spirit is staggering to me.

Sorry dude, but honestly I don't find Finally Free that good. Of course it's a good ending to the album and the first couple verses are catchy as fuck, but when taken out of the context of the album's concept, the song is just good imo. Nothing outstanding for me honestly

Well, I'm more song oriented than album oriented, so I have no problem taking it out within the album context.

Oh I see, that's actually an interesting point of view. Personally, I'm usually more album-oriented, especially when it comes to prog and more experimental bands, because I like to hear the songs in the order the band placed them. DT in particular, for me it's hard to take a song out of the context of the album, because I tend to consider their albums like one big wholly work.

thjere are some parts of albums I need to hear in order, for example, the first 3 songs of MAYH or the Casualties of Cool album or disc 1 of The Incident. Other than that, I'm quite happy taking a song out of its context and listening to it for it's value alone.
Lol, I only ever take DT songs out of context, even 6deg. I don't even classify it as one song because most of the transitions don't even make it sound like one song. For its first listen, I like to hear it in order, but after that, it's all down to mood. Even the experimental bands I listen to, I don't really care about listening to a full album if I want to listen to them. Their song is its own identity to me
