It has to suck to be a Bills fan. Are you? But yes, they look good this year. And yes again, this is very east to enjoy. Blackwater Park, I only play to brag about my prog exploration.

So yeah I'm really digging The Lotus Eater right now, especially that nifty little verse riff 49 seconds in.

Okay, so I've stated here before that it took forever for me to get into Opeth. Well little by little I did and ended up at their show on Friday night. They sounded INCREDIBLE. This isn't a well I think they did but others didn't. I went with a total Opeth fanboy and one who hated them (went for High On Fire) and we all agreed they sounded incredible.
The setlist covered a little of everything with the exception of Orchid I believe, but boy was it an experience! The venue they played at (Worcester Palladium) has a bit of a reputation for not such a great sound (by others, but if you're not an idiot it's not hard to get a good mix), but Opeth (as some bands have before) figured out how to make themselves sound amazing. From an Opeth fanboy, a new fan, and a total Opeth basher, do NOT miss this show. Just a bit of a heads-up, the merch was very pricey. ALL bands 30 dollar tees and 60 dollar hoodies. I've been to arena concert with cheaper merch, but besides that complaint a really worthwhile night!

Every foreign band i've seen charged 30 dollars for a fucking t-shirt while the American bands were much more reasonable. Fuck Europe but this is a really good album. Just played it with my Dad in the car and he liked it, well the tracks that he didn't scream in anywho.

As of right now, although I'm gonna get suprise-sexed on this choice, this is probably my favorite Opeth as of now. Blackwater Park and Damnation are creeping up on it though.

Havent given this a full listen in exactly 2 months. I really wore it out (about 25 listens in a month+) so i decided to l,ay off it a bit since it grew off me so heavily. Maybe i'll start enjoying it a lot more now like when i first got it.

Hahaha, thanks man! My dad and I share a common interest with music (and I mean alot of music) and he will introduce to me to alot of older stuff while I keep him up with the times.

You write and write and write, Mike, and yet I can't shake the feeling that you aren't actually hearing the albums you're reviewing. Maybe you should take some hits and chill and not worry about reviewing and rating every bit of music you get your hands on, because your reviews are really just kind of trite. This Message Edited On 09.23.08

No!! The de-tuning in Burden is a very interesting twist to an otherwise very conventional song, I think it adds a certain jazz to it. I do not care what you say, I love that ending.
Other than that, great review.
I love this album, can't stop listening to it, Axenrot is a god amongst men.
