"Pretty great when two of your fave bands from two different genres are inspirations for each other."

Totally, especially when they're as great as these two bands. I think you can kind of hear the inspiration for the guitar melodies around the "There has never been a silence like this before" part in that riff at 0:48 in "Resist".

Maybe I'm just telling myself what I want to hear, but I could see how that riff could inspire the one on Fire Above, Ice Below.

I can see it although not to the point where I'd claim a sure link between both. I would definitely be cool though

Definitely. He fleshes it out a little here on a post from about 16 hours ago. https://www.facebook.com/john.haughm.9?fref=ts

Haha that's amazing

They've got me relistening to Test For Echo now and remembering just how underated that album is

Agreed. It may not be the greatest Rush album, but there are some great moments throughout that entire record.

Even the bad Rush albums aren't actually bad. That's a huge accomplishment considering how long they've been going. I don't think I'd rate any of them under 3-3.5

Same here. The vast majority of their albums are at least a 4 for me. Such a consistent band. It's insane really.

I will only pay that for my favorite album ever (and I pretty much did lol). But it would be so cool to have because minus how that guitar fades out near the end the song is fucking masterful and makes The Grain make more sense.

Nothing like waking up on a cold morning, first snow of the year is on the ground, coffee in hand and proceed to blast Falling Snow while driving to work.
