And Yankee~from what I saw in that mountain of bands you posted, I know I had a bunch of 4s, 4.5s and including motW a 5 ;]
Just think the proportion of what I've checked out in these areas that I've loved has not been as high as other genres I've pursued since joining
But yes there is great stuff in there and dw I will check some at some point

wouldn't bother searching out slint/spiderland soundalikes, most of them lack everything that made slint good. they had
their own sound for the most part
by all means listen to the 7,000 bands in yankeedudes copypastas though, a lot of them are good

There's probably musical comparisons but nothing and I mean nothing matches this in terms of being real and the atmosphere it creates. I can feel the salty breeze in my face and see the captain's 1000yrd stare on this classic.

i agree that the bands who sound the absolute most like slint (the for carnation, june of 44, rodan, polvo, shipping news, etc) while still great are edged out by slint. but i wasnt only talking about them. i said similar bands. not exact. just in the same ballpark. kinda like how 80s/90s alternative was pretty vast with alot of different subgenres, but they're all under the same umbrella. bunch of those bands i listed i like more than slint is all, but these guys were still the shit so cheers.
