movie was actually awesome but just the fact that you could've seen it the next day or something shows that you kinda fucked up

movie was actually awesome
Ugh I hated it. They added too many stupid ideas and plot points that weren't in the book, there was a lot of cheesiness in the special effects and acting, and it just awkward the whole way through. That bit where Gandalf gets saved from the cage by super ninja Saruman and Elrond who apparently have super awesome reflexes and can pwn ring wraith spirits without breaking a sweat, yeah that's totes not lame or anything. And then Galadriel does her cheesy "angry spirit shouting" thing and over-dramatically collapses.
And then there's the stupid bit where Legolas defies gravity by jumping onto falling bricks and the whole thing is CGI-ed up the wazoo and doesn't even look real (wasn't it slow-mo too?). And that's not even getting started on the lulzy elf/dwarf romance, and all the crappy dialogue that allowed for. :/

I enjoyed it, linked nicely into Fellowship too

Most of those complains I have for the first one, each movie was better than the last and I could enjoy them as a middle-earth fan, obviously they're not direct adaptations of The Hobbit book, it's the appendices and tons of extra shit thrown in too.

I predicted the deaths of certain characters before I even watched the film but overall I really enjoyed it. Peter Jackson has such a passion for it that it's hard not to get sucked in.

I don't understand people comparing them to the Star Wars prequels, even if the Hobbit movies aren't perfect they're no where near as misguided and contradictory as the SW prequels and Peter Jackson feels more genuine in what he's doing compared to Lucas.

Yeah there are plenty of valid complaints on the movie but frankly I loved every second of it. I'm really not a book stickler at all for one. I was really skeptical of the added romance plot but I thought it tied up beautifully where I didn't expect it to in the least. The bits about Elrond, Saruman and Galadriel fighting the ringwraiths and sauron could seem far fetched but that technically happened in the books without being seen. The cgi really doesn't bother me and yeah there was a lot of crazy unbelievable shit happening, especially with legolas, but it's so fun I really don't care.

And if you cross LOTR with Elder Scrolls you get Game of Thrones, I'm personally a huge fan of them all
But yeah back to the music, so this is pretty much the best album ever made
