and the grand conjuration is probably their weakest heavy since by the pain I see in others

It has its moments, but yeah I kinda agree. I really only listen to it for those heavy transitions and that solo. Everything else is boring tbh

Yeah, Isolation Years is perfect. The atmosphere is haunting and it's one of Mikael's best moments on the album.

Hell yeah

Especially the ending like, what a let down. GOP's lat third is nowhere near as bland as Harlequin's forest and 6-8 minutes encompasses all of Opeth's work perfectly.

Brutal, beautiful, emotional.

@ChoccyPhilly No, not really. I listened to Kaleidoscope but it wasn't a life changing experience. Tries to be bombastic but loses the essence.

The first two Transatlantics are really good and the last two are decent.

Yeah, I agree. Listen to SMPT:e Myth. It's got quite a few good tunes including a 30 minute song, which is great. You too Talons, if you're up for more a more flashy person of SW's Raven or a flashier and longer version of Eternal Rains Will Come

He brought that group together in like 2000 I think and their debut it quite remarkable, but I'm that keen of their other stuff. Whirlwind is solid at least, but the wank is too much on that

Only good stuff Portnoy has done since his departure from DT is Flying Colors' debut

He hasn't done anything entirely different from what he normally does. Yes, I see this as a problem.

I knew a bloke who was messing with some fireworks and it shot right through his hand and was pretty lucky to still have a hand in the end. Random story.

Are they seriously gonna ban fireworks? Hahahahahah. No more 4th of July's for Massachusetts then

Haha, that's a shame. Gonna have to stick with sparklers if you can buy those too. Those were the shit when I was like 14
