This is a pretty good album. definately a change from their previous old stuff. I'll have to listen to it a couple more times before it sinks in, but definately worth picking up.

The American Idiot drum riff seems to get used a lot over the album

I'm very biased when it comes to Green Day. I've been listening to them since Kerplunk and they are one of my favourite bands.

This album is brilliant. Who gives a **** about the simple lyrics or basslines. It's the simple things in life that are great

Some songs on the album I didn't like at first (St Jimmy believe it or not) but now I love them. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams may sound exactly like Oasis' Wonderwall but I still like it.

Going to see them in February and looking forward to it. They are one of those bands I still havent seen in the 10 years I've listened to them (I only just saw offspring earlier this year).

There are a bunch of flaming fanboys posting lame-*** comments on this thread. If you don't have anything good to say, shut the **** up.

Great album, one of the best this year and I will be listening to it many years to come.

9/10 (taking off a point because like everything, it's not perfect because there is one song I always skip and I'm not saying which )

Who the hell are you to tell me to shut the **** up. in my opinion all of the people that think this new album is good don't know anything and they need to shut up. the only greenday that is worth listening to is old greenday and this new album is disapointing. Not all review has to be good.

I have their albuum and personally,i think its great. I especially like they way the made Jesus of Suburbia, the umm...."punk opera." The only problem with it is that its political.I don't really think that music and politics mix,and they should stay separate because it can actually hurt the band, like they loose customers that aren't from the political party their in,or somthin like that...ya no?

I really don't like any Green Day, this album is just worse than everything else by them. Take that, fanboys!

But i never said that it was a fact that they suck. in fact i said i like their old stuff. i just don't like this album. And just because you like the band doesn't meen that they are good. so you should also shut up if you expect me too. If not it's something called being hypocritical. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

And just like I said before just because you like them doesn't mean they are good. I was never flaming about them, just stating the fact that this album is not as good as their others. :naughty:

Ummm...I never mentioned you or any names and everyones entitled to their opinion. But when people post 'green day sux lol' it's really annoying (unless they are joking which is usually the case).
good review but im afraid i nearly stabbed myself when i heard this song (literaly i dropped the knife when i was cutting some bread lol)
'one nation controlled by the media?'
ok lets think who distirbutes there music? big media companies. who advertises it? big media companies. who plays their video on tv? big media companies.

isnt that slightly hypocritical
Not really, just a bit ironic. Did Green Day want it to happen? I have a good idea that they just want a widespread distribution to get their message across. If the world wasn't like that then they wouldn't have ended up doing it.

Ok, let me put in my 2 cents worth:

If you enjoy listening to the ear-splitting noise that americans call "Green Day", then may god take your miserable life quickly. I take pity on all of the fools who think that this music is punk, or even rock. You senseless morons had better go to sleep before you hurt yourself trying to scratch the fleas out of your hair.

Anybody want to talk about this, add me on msn messenger at grahamvalliant@hotmail.com.
