Contender for Megadeth's worst album. If Risk didn't have 'Crush 'Em' I'd put it a full point ahead of this.
Mustaine claims they were to return to their thrash roots with this album. I can assure you there is no return to thrash metal on this record.
The heaviest (and best track) you will hear off this album is 'Dread And the Fugitive Mind.' It has one of the most memorable Megadeth solos not to be written by Poland or Friedman. The riffs are also excellent and Dave's vocals are solid.
Disconnect is the second the best song. Great riff, far from thrash though.
Third best is 'Return to Hangar.' It's basically a poor re-working of Hangar 18.
The rest of the album is piss-poor.
'When' is one of the most uninspired pieces of shit I have ever heard. It's Megadeth's longest song with Dave blabbing for the first 3 minutes.
Moto Psycho, Promises, and 1000 Times Goodbye are abominations.
Skip it.
