maybe because tom became an overblown prick around the time of AVA, or at least made people much more aware of it
didn't he at one point say that we don't need to whisper had the power to end wars?

I'd believe it. That he said that. Not that it has the power to do that.

reading some old tom interviews to try and find where he said that and while i cant find it yet its still crazy entertaining to read
"This is the best music made in decades ... It is so much more powerful, emotional and melodic than Box Car and Blink put together, that I am currently sh---ing my pants"
"Within two years, we'll be the biggest rock act in the world. There's never been a rock band from America that sounds like us. And I hope that what I just said raises more than a few eyebrows."
it's a goldmine

I may even like this more than s/t, but yeah this rules hard.
The End With You is one of my favorite songs in general

ngl I still fuck with angels and airwaves bc they're the ones who got me into (somewhat) atmospheric rock

AVA have some great songs they've just never really been able to hold my attention for a full album. valkyrie missle and the adventure are still hard jams

The Adventure is definitely one of their best.

It is very overlooked. I use to think that Tom was a shit musician, but this album sure made me eat my words.

"maybe because tom became an overblown prick around the time of AVA, or at least made people much more aware of it"
its the period when he talked to THE informants (high ranked gov. officials) about THE subject of ufos, so no wonder he thought his band is THE band. i love box car though, and i love america for the simple fact that such crazy people as him can live and express their beliefs.

though i wish hed be more anti-gov r n. sadly, all systems go is not anarchist in its meaning either, but just zeitgeist (the movie)like.

yeah, I think tat they were honest back then, and their reflections were as mature as they were at the moment. The attempt he makes in Ava, on the other hand is a failure I think. And even more some in the newest blink. But boxcar resonates [still does, despite my pompous at times tone] so much with me, I can't even express it

As bad as the last Blink album was, it's still masterful compared to every AVA album Tom has made. That band is a fucking black hole of suck.
Still love this. Elevator is one of the best unofficial Blink songs ever.

first AVA album has some hard jams tbh, everything else they did sucked, its still better than anything reunion blink have done though
|

Elevator is godly yeah. Used to play that track on repeat back in the day.

Angels and Airwaves aren't that bad in my opinion. Every record has at least some solid songs and The Dreamwalker is honestly fantastic. I prefer it over this actually

i like angels and airwaves but this definitely stands tall as toms best non blink album (its my 3rd fav album from the blink family tree behind s/t and when your heart stops beating, unless alkaline trio counts now). although the dream walker is pretty good, and every album has their moments, theyre still not really able to hold my attention for a full album
