Re: George’s vocals, I do sometimes miss the more unhinged screamo shrieking he did on Sunbather. It definitely held a bit more emotion, even if it was incomprehensible. With that said, the change he made definitely fits their current style a lot better

i think his vocals have only gotten better over time, he used to be good but one note. his range and power is insanely good. sounds so vicious and gnarly. so much control over his voice with how he enunciates words.

Sitting with it a little more, I genuinely think Sorry Laid the Hearth is the best song they’ve released. I really hope they continue with this style on the next album.

Absolutely agree! Whole song is astonishing and a whole album in that style would be so awesome!

yeah agreed it's the best song they've ever made. get oranssi vibes from the outro. hope they continue in that direction. altar of plagues' Teethed Glory and Agony is a sonic direction I'd really love someone else to pick up, and it sounds like they could do that too

Saw Altar of Plagues on their last tour, and I'll be seeing Oranssi Pazuzu in two weeks hopefully.
Very nice EP, way blacker than I expected, but I'm allergic to breakdowns so...

Sick record. George's vocals are downright lethal.
