also agree about It Used To Matter. I think Beyond Repair serves its purpose on LINE, but It Used To Matter actively makes the start of the title track even fucking harder. WOOF!

Spinning this for the first time, Dream Debris sounds like a Neurosis song, god damn this thing is a beast.

Nah Converge fans would be the Tool fans of metalcore if the last thing they put out was No Heroes and then they dropped something mid 13 years later.

Plus Converge fans have had sex before

Sorry that got me needlessly pressed, I actually completely understand what you’re saying lol

but also I’d argue Converge has been a far more consistent band over just as long a period of time…

Yeah I like it more too. And tbh Doom in Bloom did wind up being my least favorite cut here.

Detonator, It Only Gets Worse, It’s Not Up to Us, Nothing is Over, t/t, and Dream Debris are my favorites. They also have such an interesting approach to sound play on this record (and Love Is Not Enough, to a lesser extent, the transition from Make Me Forget You to We Were Never the Same for instance).

Well, I said Love is Not Enough was pretty firmly my fourth favorite from these guys, and now this one is. A pair of truly excellent records from these guys in less than four months. Now how weight a third surprise LP?

Detonator is one of Jacob’s best moments ever, I already pointed out how impressed I was with him on Love is Not Enough and he’s even better here.

How the fuck is it possible that this man is 50?!

And i was slightly disappointed that of the ten tracks here we were *just* getting a re-recording of I Won’t Let You Go, but holy shit this version fucking smokes the original.
