Very well written review Tyll âď¸
Really lovely imagery. Iâm not well versed in the BoC catalog, so I canât comment on the comparisons, bur I agree with your other thoughts, the album is meditative and contemplative, and hopeful?
2026 has been a crazy year for comebacks

'Well, He said, "A man's foes will be they of his own household"
Well, I hardly believe that your own father or mother or brother or sister would be your enemy'
Heard a lot of people describe 'Father and Son' as 'goofy'... think closer to disturbing!

First part of Prochecy is very âFuture Sound of Londonâ

after 4 or 5 listens i like this album very much but it doesnt quite hit the highs of tomorrows harvest, and of course nothing will ever top the first two.
still a great album, even if it does feel like the product of two guys in their 50s who've been making music together for 40 years.

âTomorrows Harvestâ I always had down as âgood but dryâ, as opposed to âCampfireâ which was a little fruity for them - will return to it.
I can hear some Tomorrowâs Harvest in Inferno though.

Nice hubba...up your rating ;P
I discog jammed all the albums today...def like this new one more than 'Harvest' (like an amazing soundtrack album by them...but it feels missing something signature found in all their other albums) and 'Campfire' (tiny bit front loaded but I upped it from a 4 to a 4.5)

Those guitars in Prophecy are so fucking cool. Wish they utilized them more on the album but yeah that one is definitely a top 3 for me on here.
This has everything a BoC fan could possibly want. Some MHTRTC, some Geo, some Campfire, and some Tomorrow's Harvest. All timer of a comeback record.

Some vibes on this album remind me of the game âNo, Iâm not humanâ, the ambience in that games is also so good.

I (almost) wish it didn't exist. I cannot vibe with such on-the-nose sample choices. I like ethereal, dissociative, distant. It's too real.
It's still a fantastic comeback, I'm just struggling slightly with my yearning for ambience and then grappling with themes that take me out of that headspace. It's never happened with BoC before, but then this is the first album of theirs I've digested at the time of its release. It feels different.

'Father and Son is my favourite...'
Most people on RYM seem not to like it, 'goofy ass Frontier Psychiatrist jam' or whatever, but I think the atmosphere in that one is unsettling, definitely top 5 for me...in fact it's where the album REALLY gets going I think.

Naraka is that point for me and all the material preceding it is tougher to love (so first third of the album, essentially)
