After a few listens I think this is most similar to Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. Listen to the remix that came out a few years ago, I kinda see this as a continuation of that album.

I can most definitely see that! Exactly why I mentioned it in the review. Definitely going back to their roots.

Pleasantly surprised. Much like darkthrone the singles may be my least favorite. Definitely seems like they were trying to channel some puritanical. The intro was very fear and wonder-esque

Feeling like getting shitfaced and playing some Enthrone Darkness Triumphant songs on guitar tonight lol. Tormentor of Christian Souls is so fun. I'm 14 again, just heard about these clowns in Terrorizer magazine. I'm afraid this is dad rock now boys.

Man, maybe galder was holding them back lol. I guess it's possible he's been checked out for a while and it was affecting the songwriting. It's like they remembered they're allowed to play guitar again. Feel like the orchestrations are more tastefully done this time around too. Even when they're over the top, it's just flat out more interesting than what they were doing on the last couple albums. But really im just stoked the riffing is awesome throughout the album. Even got some sweet twin guitar harmony sections
