it has no replayability for me. it never got any better on repeated listens, just feels really stock to me.

I jammed this again today and Sovran. I just have almost no desire to return to any of this album, new singer while amazing is overused a bit. Angellores is the one thats stuck with me way more, this isnt a bad album but it just feels kind of stuck

it just feels mid to me. draconian usually lead the pack, but here they're lost in the weeds.

hmm... i spent a bit more time with this album and i think i get it now. i do still prefer the previous two records but there is something about the 'emptiness' of this record that creates this atmosphere of disassociation that suits introspection perfectly. it feels like the echo in an empty hall, making you consider what might have taken place there a long time ago.
i do still think it's their weakest offering, but i get what they were going for now artistically. i may not love it but i respect it.

The two before it are just SO good and in regards to this year: Angellore's new record claimed my gothic death doom album of the year spot and that records falling furthur downnmy AOTY list as thr year marches on

Saw them live last weekend and it was pretty great. The Face of God was surprisingly good and effective. Which means I have to 5 this.

It only took me 6 months to check this, and I'm bit unsure whether I liked it or not. Gonna see them with Paradise Lost in 10 days so maybe seeing the new songs live will bring.... some life into them.

Well I mean it's gothic doom metal.. it's not known for being lively and full of boisterous energy. It's supposed to be a little dull and grey by design.
