This is not Foreverglade (which is fine, even tho I dig it) but it's also kinda boring for long stretches. I'm giving it another go and I barely noticed a thing happening until Fangs ups the tempo. It ends stronger, admittedly, but yeah I remain unconvinced.

def a matter of tastes. theres a lot to appreciate here - incredible musicianship, incredible guitar work, clear vision and atmosphere, great unique production. if youre a guitar festishist or someone who enjoys the sound, artistry and vibe above all else, i can see loving this. personally my smoothbrain needs more structure, more flow, more hooks and standout moments. i also think every track could have been edited down by a few mins with nothing lost. a lot of this washed together for me and it was pretty overwhelming and exhausting at times (which i get is intentional). still, the ending half of the closer is breathtaking shit

In all fairness, a 2.5 is understandable. This drags a few times and the title track is like 10 minutes of middling.
Then, we have five times as much of good stuff. The guitar lead halfway through Blackheart is sick.
