I'm going to give this at least one more spin later, but even going into this with low expectations, I'm disappointed. The only track I can say I liked even nearly as much as NOLA (if I'm being generous) is The Man That Follows Hell. New Orleans is a Dying Whore was a bit above the rest too. None of this is bad, just nothing that really grabbed my attention. The riffs just aren't nearly as memorable and there's nothing taking their place to make up for it. Some grating vocal moments as well. Sitting at a 3 on first spin.

Got to track 7 on my 2nd spin before I had to stop to do other things, but Ghosts Along the Mississippi grew on me this time around.

Down II has a more chill atmosphere, I like most tracks. Couldn’t get into Down III but it has the same avg as this. NOLA in another league.

Alright, second spin track ratings averaged out to a 3.2. Without NOLA context, I'd say fuck it and round up, but nah. Ghosts Along the Mississippi and The Man That Follows Hell are definitely my favorite tracks here

Was listening to New Orleans is a Dying Whore and just kept thinking what a shame it is Dimebag isnt around still as I can imagine him ripping some of these. I'd kill to see Pepper and Dime riffing together.

This album is actually way more diverse than their debut, just nowhere near the consistency

Stained Glass Cross, New Orleans is A Dying Whore,

Lies, Landing on the Mountains of Meggido. Those are the tracks worthy of your time here.
