Thanks Voivod, appreciate the insight to the review because I did put some thought into it beyond just the songs on the record and how they sound.
I didn't perceive anything overtly political about the record, so I imagine those criticisms are stemming from an external context since she associates with people of the opposite political party as most of her fanbase.
