She sounds absolutely nothing like Waxahatchee lmao, closest I could think of is twangy Frances Quinlan

doesn’t sound like her either. pretty distinct voice imo

'Frances Quinlan'
I always thought closest to Hop Along, but I much prefer these vocals

Ooh yeah Hop Along is a much better analogy

I really don't see any similarities besides the fact that they kinda do that yelpy thing with their voice sometimes

That's probably enough to do it

I found Wednesday vocals kinda offputting at first but have grown to really like them. I like the way she just kinda rolls notes a semitone up or down

I'm in the same boat, at first the vocals seemed too put on for me, but now I relax into them

I'm still not over the pepsi can thing that's actually crazy

After the first 2 spins, I think that this album misses the absolute musical peaks that made Rat Saw God such a standout album. That leaves the vivid lyricism to carry many songs from good to great.. It also feels like most of the moments that will stick to me are in its singles, but there are some songs that are growing on me, like Townies and Carolina Murder Suicide. Will keep spinning this.

| |
I did also feel that this lacks the highs of Rat Saw God after one listen but I think it's roughly as good overall. strong 7.5 that could grow to an 8

Holy shit. Best first listen of an album I've had in a while. Phish Pepsi fucking rules. Like 6 or 7 absolute bangers on here. Easy 4.5 right off the bat.

This was alright listening to passively. I enjoyed it more than Rat Saw God.

The way love goes kind of has me sobbing at this point. Idk this album seems to have a growing impact on me, all things considered
