The descriptions sound right up my alley indeed.

I can pitch in and say the Sallow Moth album is indeed a sweet listen

I want a new Vaura album. Toby recently had an AMA on Reddit and no one asked him about the band.

Damn I didn’t know there was ANOTHER band lol

Still gotta say maudlin is by far my favorite thing he’s been involved with that I’ve heard at least. Gonna have to check Vaura out

Vaura is delightful and under appreciated. Definitely the most overtly goth thing Toby is a part of, I think. Sick bass lines throughout.

I have never heard of Vaura, what is that?

The only Toby projects I know are his solo stuff; Kayo Dot; motW; Bloodmist; Alora Crucible; Piggy Black Cross and Tartar Lamb

@Animals. It's not easy to get into this at all. Literally their most challenging album, yet I share your enthusiasm about its quality as art

Guys I heard the bonus track, “Augoeides”, and I’m very upset and shocked it wasn’t included on the album. Would have fit perfectly and helped round the album out more, because it’s a more “normal” song. Still weird as hell, but more akin to a track off Moss Grows but with more textures. Incredible song and sad it didn’t make the cut, especially considering it could still fit on a single disc. /rant

Their last great album was Phobos for my tastes before this. But I’m glad they returned to more painterly songwriting I’ve been waiting for that.

Where can one listen to Augoeides if one only bought the standard version?

Thank you so much Veldin! Totally agree with the shock that Augoeides wasnt included. Perhaps the tone of it isn't as sombre/melancholic as the rest of the album? It definitely has its own vibe that sets it apart, and would've preferred it instead of Mental Shed (which in tone I feel is too similar to Closet Door..., only not as good). The bass lines in this track are delicious.
