Not a big fan of rockets, no.

Honestly, this argues to be my 3rd best from them.

"Many has been craving..."
have? i like it with 'has' tho
"'Peacefields', which has just received a the video treatment..."
extraneous 'a'
"Since the three singles for the album were published as a countdown, the album follows up with 'Lachryma', a song that Forge himself has claimed it is his favourite..."
the 'it' is unnecessary me thinks
"'Satanized' must be carved deep into the fanbase's psyche by now since it was released as the ambassador to Ghost's era and even if it's essrntially an older track"
- maybe i'm just lost and lacking context, but did you mean a specific era? maybe ur missing an adjective :0
- typo
"With these three tracks fronting the this new record, one goes into Skeletá thinking that Ghost has managed to capture once more time the magic of the 80s, moulding it to fit their brand of Halloween themed rock, and crafting once more rock anthems for the masses, and for the most part, this is true, but there are... a couple of caveats."
- 'the this' -- one or the other
- "one more time" or "once more"
- probably would replace the second 'and' with a period, to prevent two consecutive comma-separated clauses to begin with 'and' :0 or maybe just replace the latter comma with a semicolon. I think it would also make it clearer that the 'this is true' is referring to the initial statement of ghost capturing the 80s magic, but i think i'm being waaaaaayy to anal about this lmao
"I don;t have a problem with metal ballads, "
semicolon in place of apostrophe -- is it to circumvent yet another sput glitch i'm unaware of?
"but I have a hard time resisting the urge to skip right into the 'De Profundis Borealis',"
extraneous 'the'!

sweet review, spiritual pos!

Guiding Lights might be super cheesy but I'm here for it. Cool solo, too

Yeah it’s not on the level of something like He Is but it’s a nice little ballad and legitimately one of their most emotional songs.
Setlist for this tour is a little weak on tracks from this, hope they switch it up a little more now that it’s out

"really wish i was on board for this one - the best this album really gets for me is "yeah that's pretty good" and the other times something exceptionally annoying just takes me out of the song completely."
Me @ Every release since Meliora. Pretty OK to gutwrenchingly awful.

thinking of bumping this to a 3 - it's still massively disappointing but there's more songs on here i'm happy to listen to and wouldn't skip if someone put them on lol.

I totally get your criticisms man, but this thing is just too much damn fun. And some of Tobias’ best vocals even if you don’t like the lyrics and themes too much. Still think Lachryma and Umbra are prob top 10 Ghost tracks of all time. That little jam section in Umbra is probably the absolute best part of the record.

dewinged: please don't be horrified, those are all small things on a pretty good and fun review!

Yeah I’m feeling like bumping this up too, even the less remarkable tracks have grown on me a lot more and I find myself returning to this pretty frequently. It’s highly replayable.

Cenotaph and the love rockets song still just do absolutely nothing for me. I like the intro to Cenotaph but it goes downhill so quickly for me

All done Asdfp, thanks again!
I'm glad to see this is growing on some people. I could see some songs fitting into Prequelle or even Meliora or Infestissumam, I think they really have found a sweet point with this record and looking at how many songs from the first album are on their live set, I wouldn't discard they will go slowly into that direction while keeping the big chorus songs too.

Opposite for me, Cenotaph and Missilia are great, still not as keen on Guiding Lights or De Profundis, but they’re alright

I can't with Guiding Lights or Excelsis, I think they did a much better job with Life Eternal in that sense.
