Really digging how this one is Turning out. I feel like its the proper conclusion/route from the Future Bites onward that actually works. Object Outlive Us is the weaker track IMO just due to the way the tracks are laid out, really dig the flow and vibe of title track though. At end of day its nice to finally see a SW album with actual direction again without stagnating

Objects is the far superior song on this for me, actually the orchestral version on the deluxe is the only thing from this album I ever listen to. title track is a wet fish

have to agree with Rowan here

I'll just have to admit when it comes to prog I def diverge on some opinions, where I'm not big on the psyche side of things and much prefer a Lifeson type player to a Gilmour, so the solo at end of Objects kinda didnt do much for me, but I get that its many peoples jam.

Awful lyrics, quality album.

Ngl, I completely forgot this existed. I guess I've gotta revisit, but it really didn't do much for me originally
|
| |
It’s definitely worth revisiting. Takes time to settle.

ah yeah here go, i remember why it's so good, it's literally brimming with my favorite SW soundscapes right from the start. strong lightbulb sun-incident-HCE vibes
idk to me this is clearly his best since HCE, and that's counting the PPT one

Okay Storm, you might have convinced me to give this another chance. I found it so blasé before but HCE is a certified classic in my book, so if you're ranking it that high then there must be more in there.

| |
It’s very different, a lot more open and expansive. I prefer it to HCE
Shit lyrics mind.

In theory I think this album had the recipe to be one of his best but there's an inherent lack of emotional impact to this record which I think has been the selling point of most of SW's prior classics. Still quality though

i think the emotion is there on this one, he's just not loud about it. but you can hear the urgency in his singing is there and the instrumentation is inspired.
i wasn't actually ranking it up with those, i just wanted to say that it dwells in those soundscapes, let's say
but you should czech again yes
i had no expectations coming in, loved it on the first go, and it's just a fun ride to return to

I still haven't bothered listening to this. I kind of want to change that and I kind of don't
