Think I can’t get into coheed anymore.. nothing after their first three albums has been able to keep my attention. Change in Claudio’s vox, instrumentally boring now etc

"instrumentally boring" lmao guy thinks Josh Eppard and Zach Cooper don't exist.

I will say re: production while it's an improvement over the last it's a lil lacking in dynamic range and the bass is a little more buried than I'd like it to be here.

I was pretty indifferent towards the opener but after 3 listens I think it works nicely. I wish Goodbye, Sunshine had a better chorus; I rly like the verses in that one. Searching for Tomorrow is a biiiiiig jam. Title track slaps, opinion on that hasn't changed. Meri of Mercy continues to exist. Blind Side Sonny is a decently fun time (apparently people didn't like this as a single?). Play the Poet is peak. One Last Miracle is catchy as hell and ranks in the top half of tracks for me. Corner My Confidence is a song on this album - tbf i do enjoy the latter half of it well enough. Someone Who Can has a good rhythm to it but not a favourite; prob wouldn't skip. Continuum I sets up the suite nicely, has a great chorus and cool bridge. II the album was missing a climactic track until now; easily one of my favourites. III is also pretty solid but noticeably losing steam now. IV - no.

Went into this with abysmal expectations after Vaxis II and I have been blown fucking away.

This might replace Vaxis I as my favorite C&C album

They're deeply uncool and that is definitely part of the appeal.

Is anyone else disappointed at how overcompressed this one is compared to the other Vaxis albums?

I’ll have to listen to Vaxis 1 again. Without having them back to back I think this sounds great, and 2 is shit regardless
