Yeah I don't know what happened today, but on my latest listen a lot of the non-highlight songs here for me just magically clicked. Album is aging like a fine wine

This album has been growing on me the whole time, and I was listening to it multiple times a day weeks before it was even released.

Still my AOTY. Been kind of a slower year for me in terms of metal releases I'm really digging though

I'm really impressed by a lot of the riffs the guitarists put together on this album (and also their previous two). Part of it is also the production, but some of these riffs are just so perfectly chuggy and heavy in a way that I find not a lot of other bands seem to match.

The riffs starting around 1:55 of Poseidon's Hymn, the chorus of Static Repetition, and the backing rhythm guitar during the Slipping Burgundy solo are just so *chef's kiss*. Chills every time those sections come on

Yeah, really strong guitar work all the way through, and the riffs are so distinct. Each track really has its own thing going as a result, certainly no risk of songs here blending together. Whole band kills it though, drummer is great, and of course the vocalist is absolutely insane. Her range, man... The swings from soul shredding to soft and serene are just wild. Her high screams have an unhinged quality that is borderline unsettling, and I love it.

holy shit finally some good female fronted metal band

been really tired of all those mediocre bands forced as the next best thing since herring in cream just because they have an easy on the eyes chick on the vox, this here's a real gem though, in a ton of ways

Still AOTY.

I’d 5 it if Static Repetition clicked with me like the rest does, but it just doesn’t quite hit like the other tracks.
