I guess what I mean is - it's ok you're not into, or never were, this type sound. Nevertheless it's undeniable that it's a Linkin Park album and better than most by them. Why ppl are coming to it and state so manny stuff about it it's beyond me tho. I guess they asked for it?

Battles with Meteora... Pffffttttttttttttttttttttt.
Name me one song that even comes close to Hit The Floor, From The Inside, or even freaking Numb for that matter.
Or listen to literally any song off of The Hunting Party, then listen to this garbage. A Line In The Sand makes this sound like a Linkin Park cover band.

They literally are in a no win situation with some people.
People are complaining that this sounds too safe and similar to their older albums but if they had put something radically different or experimental, everyone would be complaining that it doesn’t sound like Linkin Park.
Chester is gone, he made his choice. The band sound like they’re having fun and it’s good to have them back.

I like Meteora, but agreed, it's never been close to Hybrid Theory imo

Kinda been funny watching the hybrid theory and meteora album averages go up over time on sputnik... Back in 2007 on this site, if someone liked those albums, you were more or less an outcast and laughed at by users that liked "actual good" music... I was made fun of for a while since Meteora was a top album for me for a while.

I prefer Meteora. There's something about it.
But both are classics.

Gave this a second listen and man I don’t think I’ve listened to an album this year that’s this inconsistent. There’s enough good here for like a 15 minute ep.
And really, it’s been 7 years, how do some of these songs sound so messy? I know they obviously haven’t been working on it that long but what I mean is that fans have waited this long, why not give this record a little more time and polish? The fans could’ve waited a little longer.

yeah very much felt to me like they wrote and recorded this album very very quickly and this whole reunion only came together not even half a year ago

@alex
that literally would not shock me at all. Emptiness Machine dropped like 2 months ago. I’d totally believe you if you told me they just started talking about getting back together this year.
There’s just no way they spent a significant amount of time essentially shitting out what sounds like a career spanning CD of b sides that they just now decided to record

I think it was the Zane Lowe interview where it’s mentioned Mike had been working with Emily since 2019-ish? I think they probably only started booking dates (and Delson probably only dropped out) this year but it seems like this has been going for a while.
