Y’all choosing to support this fucking garbage is revolting. Justice for Cedric’s dog, indeed. Fuck Scientology, fuck Emily Armstrong, and fuck this iteration of the band forever. I’ll listen to meteora and hybrid theory if I get the urge to listen to middle school metal.

[2] (to most of that. I’m not spinning fucking Meteora lol.)

Yeah it is honestly probably their best album art

Meteora is the definitive LP album agreed

Listening to Casualty and Two Faced. ..if it were Chester on those tracks they'd be bangers. Even a song like Overflow would have been elevated if Chester were there to juxtapose Mike's cheap melodies. I think this is a 3.5 if Chester was still physically here with us.

"Metacritic scores are in at 79
Prev albums for comparison
Hybrid Theory - No Score
Meteora - 62
Minutes to Midnight - 56
A Thousand Suns - 66
Living Things - 60
The Hunting Party - 65
One More Light - 46"
Update: Score dropped a whopping 6 points. Now sits at 73. Still the highest rated album of their discog.

Wait why does HT have no score. Sus. Should be 75 and their best album.
|

Meteora expanded and refined hybrid and may be their “definitive album”
But hybrid got the vibes

Hybrid Theory was released before Metacritic came out. So it never received a score.

Oh very interesting. Do you think it would be top if so?
I go back and forth between meteora and HT. Both Definitely defined a sound and band on top of their game

If Meteora couldn't make it to 70 something tells me HT wouldn't either

It's ridiculous that Hybrid Theory and Meteora aren't at least high 70's low 80's. Regardless of what the opinion of "nu-metal" was back then, I think they are objectively great albums. Suns and Hunting Party are a little underrated IMO, I agree with the average for Living Things and One More Light though.

Critics have always had some weird dislike of Linkin Park especially for some reason.

New Generation of critics with a new appreciation for LP.
Brand New had the same situation. Devil and God is considered a seminal record in the Emo Punk scene and considered one of the greatest albums of all time. At the time of its release though it got a much more mixed reception. Both it and Daisy got 78 and 75 respectively.
Fast forward to Science Fiction and all the old critics either aren't there anymore or changed their opinions, so Science Fiction is at 88 on Metacritic.

if it's critics that have always had bad taste who cares tbh

I wouldn't say I care per say. But I am interested in seeing the critics consensus. I don't really take Rotten Tomatoes seriously but I still look at critics and audience scores and the like.
