I'll definitely be checking their entire catalog. Enjoying this too much at the moment to leave it, though.

Is Survived By is my fave but Stage Four is definitely their strongest (especially emotionally) and probs the one to have at the top of your priority list
and don't forget to check the split they did with La Dispute. best 9 minute release you'll ever experience

That’s why I really think of Stage Four and Lament as like sister albums.
One is the grief, the anger, the yelling at god kind of thing, the other is acceptance and trying to move on.
“But that’s the way it goes
I’ve healed more than suffered
I found the patience for jazz
I still love the Coen Brothers”
Such a nerdy little thing but I found it so relatable. Jeremy really is such an amazing lyricist.

And I’m sorry too Becky, made me think of my grandma when it came out, makes me think of my dad now. I really just cannot listen to it anymore.
Anyone calling Stage Four overrated a few pages back is out of their fucking minds. It is straight up the most cathartic and devastating record I can think of.

Stage Four is most definitely not overrated but its also not in my top 3 TA.

ooh damn that’s a hot take
Idk to me it’s miles ahead of the rest of their shit. I love every record by these guys but Stage Four reigns supreme for me. I’ve always found Jeremy’s lyrics relatable, including Hesitation Wounds, but he really hit a new high there imo.
Like I cannot state this literally enough, if Benediction comes on shuffle I’m fucking crying.
No record has ever had that effect on me.

“Not surprising I put off the call
Socialized and put up a wall
Anything to prolong the chances
Before confirming she was really gone”
same here jay. Every single song on that record fucking destroys me.
