I mean their debut is very clearly their best and they're never going to top this, but yeah this rips too
Although I'm only on first listen so I can't rate it yet but 1.5 just seems like absolutely insane for this project
That being said, I am excited for them to release something after this that is a bit more stripped back lol but this still isn't a 1 or whatever

I feel like every new album that comes out now everyone on sputnik cries about the production at first and then eventually it dies out. Like the new meshuggah, everyone was screaming when that released now I hear nothing about it.
Yeah, the drum production is a little goofy here but it's honestly not that terrible. I can hear everything clearly at least even if the kick is a little loud

Same. I hate Jari and I love shitting on him as much as the next guy but this album is just awesome lol. Riffs galore and a fantastic soaring atmosphere that is undoutedly cheesy as hell but also super fun.

I think the production here is such a focal point due to being the entire reason for its delay. I wish I liked this as much as you guys!

''It could be a 4 if Jari didn't fuck the production into oblivion'' This is more clownesque than crowdfunding a sauna. Production shouldn't be able to drop anything from 4 to 2, especially when it's objectively not that bad (all main instruments are audible, etc), just a bit weird and lifeless.
Everyone rating below 2.5 is just salty that it does not sound like self-titled which you listened to in your emo highschool phase because you were bullied for being a whiny toddler. As a result no social skills were ever acquired and now you're continuing your career as a crybaby on this stupid forum to repress all of this.
I really understand not liking the production and being disappointed by all the delays. As a reviewer it is your duty to stay at least a tad bit objective however. If you're not a clown you raise the score.

Can we crowdfund and engineer with the deluxe package to remix this 🤔

Time II was released on Nuclear Blast on August 30th 2024. Wintersun is a Finnish band often considered progressive metal and symphonic metal. Time II, their fourth album, is just under 50 minutes long and has 6 tracks of varying lengths. It has typical metal instrumentation like guitars and drums along with symphonic instruments. 4/5

honestly think this is ridiculous - reviews are a documentation of a subjective account and production is a key part of enjoyment and can mean different things for different people.
the way an album is presented can absolutely make or break an album for some listeners. others enjoy the overproduced, hyper loud and synthetic metal sound and y'know what, that's totally fine. but this is my review and for me it spoiled the whole thing. surely if it didn't matter as much as some make out jari wouldn't have spent 12 years agonising over it - and honestly the delay didn't impact my score, i just found it woefully ironic that the reason for the delay was also the reason i couldn't stand this album, as stated in my review.
it's an honest account of my experience with the album. feel free to write your own review if you disagree, i'd be interested in reading it. i still respect jari as a musician, composer and performer and if you think otherwise you're reading into things that aren't there. i have zero 'responsibility' as a reviewer because i'm not a "reviewer". i'm not staff. i'm not a contributor. just a dude who felt like he had things to say.

I wouldn't be so hard on this if Jari didn't already have multiple excellent sounding albums that were made with a fraction of the cost and were produced on a much more reasonable timeframe. He's worked with Flemming Rasmussen ffs.

just as importantly like, if you dig the album, that's great. happy for you. but this was my honest assessment of the album - i really cannot stand it and the rating is 100% accurate to how i feel about it. if that makes me a clown then i'd suggest you don't spend much time on music review sites cus you'll think a lot of people are clowns.

I respect your opinion and I don't care if someone rates this low. I do believe there are gonna be a lot of certified hater ratings though coming from people annoyed with everything surrounding this dude the past decade or so. Jari is a clown for sure but I have to admit I like this more than I expected to

Symphonic metal and cheese are synonymous. But I love the cheese lol. I'm just happy this riffs more than the previous two albums
