I dunno that song grates me, it's like listening to your drunk uncle doing cypress hill / house of pain

There's this moment at like 2 mins in where they hit this little squiggly guitar line that gives me korn covering word up energy

that song (and tbh a lot of this, including the shrapnel palette-jumping) reminds me a lot of Silverchair

I don't think this album is bad, but it's definitely weaker than what has come before. It's ok for a few spins and has a few decent tracks

I think it has the lot, it’s an album for the times.

Protomartyr's Here's the Thing is doubtlessly the superior song with that title.

Still a bit fucked up about this boring ass album. I was so into being hyped for this band. Here’s hoping they do something daring the next time around.

I kinda can't imagine bitching this much about an album I had at a 2.5. that's like getting upset at a piece of unbuttered white bread

Lmao thanks for your valuable input. I happen to be a fan, so I’m invested,

Edit: I just listened to it again on a night drive in an attempt to hear something I hadn’t heard before, hoping I’d missed something. This is the equivalent of going to a restaurant you’ve loved for years and getting served an unbuttered piece of white bread as an entree, so it becomes noteworthy.

It’s like a mediocre burger at 4 am after the party that tastes delicious just because you’re high and your guts are on fire.

I just can’t get into this. But damn is Sundowner a phenomenal track. It’s like if Washed Out and Tame Impala tried to make a 90’s Duran Duran trip hop banger.
