RIP Dolores. I'm so bloody devasted, I was on an amazing date with my gf when I got the news and I just started crying in the restaurant. I suffered from depression sometime in 2011 and this album was the only one that could bring any cheer to my life at the time. Dafodil Lament will always be special to me and the last part is one of my favorite passages in music.

+more praise for Daffodil Lament
I've listened to it roughly 20 times every day since learning of her death. It's incredible how the song just flicks a switch and goes from utterly depressing to completely uplifting within the span of three minutes. I can't believe she's gone.
God what a fucking song. What a band. What a voice. What a woman. What a sad world we live in without her now.

Same. Well, I can't say rare, cause all of my musical influences and tastes are based off my parents, but I was lucky enough to have a hippy mom and a hippy turned punk dad, so I grew up listening to shit tons of The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, The Cranberries, X, R.E.M., Green Day, The Clash, English Beat, etc. But aside from Roxy Music, Cranberries were the only band both my dad and mom would play for me. Just like Roxy Music I imagine it was because my dad got her into the Cranberries playing her love songs before they split but nevertheless I still grew up on a steady diet of those first few Cranberries albums. Ode to My Family always reminds me of dad while Zombie always reminds me of my mom.
