If any album deserved to stick the 4.3 average, it would be this one. I know it's not gonna happen, but still.

To my ears, they’ve got a couple albums better than this, but time will tell

I've got the assest Ulcerate ranking so I'm not even gonna weigh in there, but this is really holding replay value.

Indeed. If this ends up with an avg lower than Stare's I'll be done with Ulcerate fans takes haha.

>I love how despite the typical ulcerhaters this is holding a 4.3
the usual with megafanboy bands

"The typical Sputnik neckbeards already down voted
the album. It's actually a sign that it's a cool,
fun album if the old farts dislike it."
Pos'd, but hard disagree.

Sputnik gonna sputnik and have an anti hype movement to counter popular bands on the site. Glad to see the tradition continues!
Anyway, album is the most immediate for me so far but way too early to compare to their other albums for me.

for better and worse this is the epitome of metal in the 21st century, all I can say really
technically impressive, but it moves me not! nothing feels on the line

I just don't feel too much has changed since the turn of the century, this atmospherically just sounds like ISIS with death metal ants in their pants
It's alright, it just blurs a bit
It's not bad though

Might try this band’s earlier albums as I only know the one before this, might provide some context and make me appreciate it differently

It’s more or less all exactly the same mate

Ah damn, I like when a metal band had a ‘raw’ stage before they go ‘wall of sound’ in the studio, was hoping

yeah EiF and The Destroyers of All are both considerably rawer than Shrines-onward. Vermis was the bridge between eras I guess
plus EiF was the landmark that put them on the map and a quintessential dm album at this point, so that def deserves a listen
