I think this has tighter and more melodically focused songwriting than positions. The production is also brighter and tuned towards pop arrangements rather than beatmaking

I don’t really see it as understated either, at least the first half, as compared to like the non singles on thank you next. I don’t really dig her ambient dream pop stuff too much.

That’s fair, I meant more in relation to her first 3, but I guess she’s been in this region for a while now.

I just think her voice has changed. That is a thing that happens, you can’t necessarily nail the same notes you could 10 years prior.

Nah this is pretty good and you can bet it’s better than her first couple bullshit albums
