Yeah idk. Deliver Us and Undoing Ruin are their best albums by far. The Human Romance has some solid jams too imo, “Love As A Weapon” especially (might get roasted for that but I like it!)

Good intro overall, could be slowed down a bit more and extend and build more slowly into the heavier instrumentals. Still an improvement over the other two songs i looked at. Dude you dont need to have a held scream in to a verse every fucking song. Vocally this is so boring, maybe im too old and tired of this style of mid range vocals. My other problem is this style of mid 2000s core is so dated? Thats the thing thats confusing me, this isnt an updated take on this style of core its literally the same as it was nearly 20 years ago just with better production and some melodic riffing. If you want to stick with this sound and style of metalcore for so long you need to have twisted that style in a way that makes you standout and keep updating it.

I feel like for me, this "dated" style feels fresh when juxtaposed with some of the newer trends. although it's still done better by newer acts. i remember being so sick of drop G low ass riffs when it wasn't done by bands with a keen sense of melodicism because it felt like they were overcompensating for metal elitists whining about core not being "heavy enough." so like, 5 years ago i would've been all over this.

My problem is its not doing anything new to the style of metalcore. Its not an updated take on it its just the same. As people know as well im a very very picky bitch with metalcore these days

this barely feels like Darkest hour anymore and I just started getting into them and still feel like I'm justified in saying that. The melodic melodies are replaced with just generic clean sung choruses and as others pointed out, their metalcore tendencies throughout this record are pretty bottom of the barrel. I have no clue how they went from Prophets which was excellent to this snooze fest

This is one of the stalest, least fresh albums I've heard in years. It is everything that was bad about 2000s scene music.
