Redneck still sounds very much like Lamb of God, just with that angry southern theme.

First off let me say I am a HUGE LOG fan. Flew to Amsterdam last year just to see them play in a smaller venue! Now, with that said, I think this album sucks. It's completely over-produced with that echoy-reverb type filter over the whole record so you feel like you have to strain to hear the guitar work. The mix just sucks. Beyond that, the music is just flat and lifeless. You can tell the A&R guys got in their ear on this one. It seems like an attempt to be an emphasis on all the percieved "cool things" about the band, i.e. technical riffs and staccato double bass, without any real havy soul to it This is just a really generic and lifeless album and the beginning of the end of what once was a truly exceptional heavy band. They might attract more new fans with their attempt to insert a little arena rock type sound to the album, but over time they have begun the inevitable loss of their core fan base. Too bad really, but any band that begins to have any success goes this route, with the exception of Slayer.

This was a very pleasant surprise for me, seeing as I actually enjoy a good few tracks off the album. While I'm still no fanboy, I'm glad to see an American mainstream metal band besides Mastodon actually trying to do something different.

Lamb of God did well on this, and I hope they continute down this road. However, they still do not even get close to touching Mastodon as far as creativity goes.

Mastodon is good heavy shit, but it doesn't beat the complexity of Lamb of God's riffs.

Lamb of god kill as for getting A.O.T.W. first. Come OFF IT!

Try last !!! Start with As the Palaces Burn then Sacrament, Then New American gospel, lastly Ashes ,which while it has an incredible production, is a rush job creativly. It is far from TRUE Lamb of God and is an Ozzfest Product that they rushed out in 3 months.

So Shadowwhatsie don't state opinions as truth, as your truth sure ain't my truth.

What a leap backwords. Honestly, I've listened to it serveral times now it isn't growing on me.

It's different from their previous work at some points, but then it goes back into the same old crap from LOG. I've seen the plenty of times and own all of their albums, but I'm completely dissapointed.

If I could get my money back I would.

Just picked this up today cause i finally got the money for the deluxe edition with the DVD. This Is my favorite Lamb Of God album now. I absolutely love the direction they have taken. This is byfar their darkest and most atmospheric release. Every song is perfect it's probably a 4.75 or 5 for me

I've only listened to Red Neck (great music video haha) and I wasn't greatly impressed. But if the guitar work can bring a tear to john petrucci's eye then im definitely picking this up.

Considering how much I dislike John Petrucci, I wouldn't place much weight on that remark.
