Was pretty surprised to see a new Sylosis EP, The Path, just randomly dropped today? Didn't see any news about it coming.
Listening to it now, hoping it's better than this album.

Honestly, it's not great.
This newer sound they've evolved towards over the last few albums is so boring. I can't quite put my finger on why it falls flat compared to their earlier material but something is just missing.

Yeah that EP came out as a surprise to me too. I thought it was decent, but it sounds like they're moving really close to that "core" sounds, which is not my preference.

Good call. I actually used to dig that tightness a lot in their early albums, but now that the song quality has reduced on the newer albums it comes off as a bit of a bad thing now

Whilst this is still a pretty fun jam, it lacks a bit in personality. The track listing and runtime are a bit tighter than the previous album which is good to see, but they've lost a bit of uniqueness by leaning harder into the genericore sound.
