I didn't want to like this, it's precisely a type of music I tend to not particularly care for, but...
For some reason I was intrigued and put it on and never wanted to stop it. I think "a treat" is a good way to put it, this is kinda what I wanted Haken to make.

Fuck yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
It's absolutely scratching an itch p much nothing else can for me, it got an insane amount of play from me this year, swept my wrapped. The vocals being incredibly strong does a whole lot for them but the virtuosity combined with the tight ass catchy writing isn't hurting them either.

Finally got my vinyl and it's gorgeous looking and sounding.
Seeing these boys on Monday at a little venue I used to play at all the time when I was in a local band, the entire set is Coma/Safehouse/Legend/Blink and I am stoked as hell. I've listened to this album an embarrassing # of times, there's just nothing else that hits the same with the same vibe.
They're opening for Wheel whom I've never really listened to and will be happy to dip a few songs into their set and go to bed at a reasonable hour yeehaw.

Show was great and the boys were all nice as hell. Definitely suffered from opening band/small venue sound not really being able to handle everything they've got going on and it was definitely muddled in some spots but then parts would cut through super clear and sound amazing, Adam is a stellar vocalist. Managed to get a clear enough sounding recording of the Legend solo and Adam coming in with the YOUR EYES ARE SOULLESS all performed flawlessly, but my phone is shit and I prefer watching shows to recording them for the most part.
Happy to see people still coming upon this, easily my AOTY last year and it got an absurd amount of spins from me, I'm like 3rd or 4th globally for them on lastfm.

Also I had an extra vinyl they sent me on accident so I got in contact w/ them to return it at the show and wound up getting to go in early and watch them sound check which was cool as hell.

It just gets too self indulgent with the wanky stuff, tone down the wank a smidge shorten down the song lengths would be all the better for it
