Post- was a pretty massive letdown at first due to coming out fairly soon after Worry. I still think it's probably his worst solo release aside from this, but I have warmed to its positives over the years. 9/10 is obviously such a vibe and Yr Throat and Beating Your Head Against the Wall are bangers. USA is a solid track soon. It's just an album that kinda aims low and all over the place, sounding mostly like a Worry. hangover.
Fantano giving this a decent 9 is.....insane to me lol I feel like the RYM crowd also isn't super familiar with Jeff's older stuff, because I just can't imagine anyone who has been a longtime fan honestly thinks this is among his best work. It's a fine album that happens to be on the wrong side of the threshold for diminishing returns. Idk, maybe I'm just out of touch on this lol

this is pretty interesting. honestly the album cover and name look and sound like something the kids these days would eat up.

idk I think it's pretty good. Not as good as Worry of No Dream yeah but when I don't feel the need to (pointlessly) compare everything and just listen to it for what it is, I find myself enjoying every song. Bit of a lull in the middle but those songs grew on me. I think the fact that this might not be among his best but still really solid speaks more to just how good those other records were. I do wonder how long he can keep churning out records like this but in the meantime I think he's still got it. Maybe I just have a lower bar or expectations or that I've been listening to him for over 15 years obscures things a bit but at the end of the day I'm happy with this record. Future is Dumb is one of his best and 3 Summers is a great closer.

Just spun this again with some good headphones finally and yeah honestly shocked the avg is already lower than POST. There are a couple mid songs, but most go so hard. Those first two + the transition, absolute chef's kiss right there. Doubt gets better every listen. Life is Dumb goes out with such a bang. Yeah this album fucking rocks
