it's like playing hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide and seeeeeeeeeek
Last two are tough to pick, I kinda equally like them including Garden Eye Mantra, Chalk Flowers and Hey Siobhan. Chalk Flowers lyrics hit really hard though..
1. Blue Over Blue (I just can't get enough of it)
2. Dying In May
3. Through The Roses
4. Claire's Not Real
5. Lady Grey

Interesting picks - Dying in May is one of my least favorite non-interlude tracks, but I do enjoy it and it certainly helps to diversify the tracklist. Stems of Anise might be the song that's grown on me the most here, it's pretty close to top 5 at this point. And Blue Over Blue is very good, extremely catchy.

Dying In May takes their sound to a very psychedelic space, which I really enjoyed, while following the theme of the album, with the dreamy and fragmented recollections of childhood memories, which I found to be very affecting.

'stems of anise' is a sleeper gem. could be the uncanny lennon-esque vocals, but the outro sounds like something straight off sergeant peppers.

Great in depth review. I agree that the Clientele have other albums that are just as superb as this one.

seems like it passed a lot of people by, but that could be said for most of their albums really
Lady Grey was particularly stunning live

Yeah, the Sput averages for The Clientele's whole discography are way lower than might be expected (except for all the lesser-known releases that only I've rated, haha)
