“i have a lot of personal connections with hammock songs - my dog died in my arms when listening to silencia”
Oh my god dude… that’s so awful. I can’t even imagine. Just listened to the track, it’s beautiful. Hammock does have these beautiful ambient pieces too, I won’t deny it. One of, if not my favourite of their tracks, is “My Mind Was a Fog”. That’s up there with “Medicine” by Daughter as one of the saddest things I’ve ever heard. I mean, it’s still post-rock-y, but it feels like a bridging track. Fits into the greater trajectory of their evolution. Idk tho, on the whole, I find a lot of their latter day material unremarkable, despite those truly special moments.

oh i agree 'my mind is a fog' is gorgeous - and hey, i'm not trying to convince you their prolific nature will be good for everyone, just happens to be good for me as i love practically all their body of work.

yeah they've struck gold several times. this album might be their weakest for me but it's still very pretty and has its moments. i'm just happy to let them do their thing and be along for the ride. i get the feeling it's kinda like a personal form of therapy for them both and they just happen to let everyone else listen along.
