I don’t enjoy Animals anywhere near as much as this, yet. Idk this has an unquantifiable magic allure to it whereas Animals almost seems ‘standard’ in comparison. Having said that I’ve heard this a ton and only recently checked it out, so things can change

animals ticks a lot of my ambient techno boxes. only on first cd so far, but the variation has been very good and i don't feel the length quite yet

It indeed is very classic good!!!!!
I barely enjoy Animals 4/5ths as much as I enjoy this one. It's a low 4.0/high 3.5 for me, while this is an undisputed 5.0. To me it's suffering from being too long indeed and it's more of a collection of tracks than an actual album.
This is the exact opposite: it's surprisingly short for how long it actually is and it's very much one musical journey, a very coherent album with what feels more like parts than individual tracks.

i feel the length on this more to be honest. I think it's because a lot of tracks are very long, while animals' shorter tracks makes it a little more varied for me. I still love this of course, but I do feel myself zoning out of it from time to time. Still got a good chunk of Animals left though, so maybe it will start to tire me out more
