Over a year later and this is still excellent. Although I prefer earlier MH albums, fans of their The Blackening album should really give this one a chance, it's incredibly focused and supercharged, only let down occasionally (to my tastes) by a few cheesy vocal melodies (and iffy political rants). The overall impression is extremely positive however and I just love the fact that this must annoy the hell out of Robb Flynn and co's detractors.

Still haven't checked this one out as I didn't like the two before it, maybe I should change that

Slaughter the Martyr is brilliant, definitely one of their best songs. At first I wasn't particularly enamoured by this release but I have listened to it plenty of times now and I have to say it holds up pretty well.

I'm a bit burnt on Machine Head but I really don't see why people would dislike this album... musically speaking.
I've just checked the lyrics of Kill thy Enemy (because I didn't like the name of this track), it's not even cringe, it's downright... I don't even know how to call this.
I knew they had sold out to propagandist shit with the video of Unhallowed but Kill thy Enemy is just vile.

^Yes, the name of the track 'Kill thy enemies' is seriously cheesy, even if this is supposed to be a concept album, musically I really like the track but the lyrics, oh well (sigh).
I ignore the socio-political diatribe (and try to simply enjoy the music), which ironically generally pushes the official/mainstream narrative these days. It has the opposite effect of making things 'edgy' or rebellious in nature. I think Robb and co would be better off dropping it as people are tired of the new woke order at this point. I'm amazed so few bands are calling out the current globalist clown show.
Despite all this I'm still looking forward to new music from MH (hopefully without the rants, if not then some radical changes in viewpoint), because the music alone on OK&C is extremely good.
