Labradford, Global Communication, The Gathering, u-Ziq, Gospel, attempting to like The Smile (lol) and yeah some pretty regular Beach House / Nujabes / Masakatsu Nagaki rotation. Maybe a couple of other things.

I even left it till the 4th day to check out the new Art Brain 🤔

okay I'm coming around on this, maybe I'm just less grumpy this week? I can dig a triumphant melody on occasion. Certainly good ideas here and a decent amount of variety for the style.

Oh it is absolutely instant, just took a moment for me to accept it into my heart. Mood dependant. The combination of consonance / triumphantly optimistic melodicism coupled with BM vox/lo-fi (ish) aesthetic isn't always a harmonious combination.

Indeed, I had to get over some apprehension that this is not trve enough. "Bm that clicks instantly? Surely this is for noobs."

but I got better

One of the best reviews I’ve read lately! This just feels like a special album. Very catchy, unique, original, creative and kinda uplifting in spots...but uplifting like a last meal on execution day. I don’t listen to a ton of Black metal but this is the best one of the year for me so far.

Strongly agree with the ...and Oceans reference. The keyboards especially.
