And it’s so gratifying to watch - as soon as Inbred clicked for me last year I just knew she was gonna be huge and it’s fun to see it in real time.

i feel like the album goes from being great to being truly breathtaking after gibson girl. before that point it's a collection of beautiful, ethereal, shoegazy ballads, but then the narrative and the music takes an even darker turn and an entirely new layer is added to the album

Yeah, I've realized that for now I cannot have this on while doing anything else that requires active thought because it inevitably sucks up all my attention.

^ facts

just can't get over how effortlessly she transitions between the shimmering, beautiful style of tracks like a house in nebraska and the real dark and gritty stuff like gibson girl

Ngl “Gibson Girl” as the lead single had me really worried, it has grown on me a lot now but the lack of specificity in the lyrics made it feel almost like self-parody. It works waaaaaaay better in the context of the album. This is why I usually don't listen to singles.

thats how i was feeling about a house in nebraska when i first heard it tbh. i think pretty much everything on here works a lot better in the context of the larger narrative, which is why i was saying that the album went from great to amazing for me after gibson girl
